Fact sheets
The Centre for Sustainable Energy website has home energy fact sheets on a range of topics including energy efficiency improvements and renewables.
Trusted installers
Installers on government energy efficiency schemes are Trustmark accredited. It is the only government endorsed accreditation scheme for work around the home. To find a trusted installer visit Trustmark.
To sign up to their Smart Export Guarantee tariff, most energy suppliers require renewable technologies like solar PV to be installed by a Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) accredited installer. One supplier only requires that the solar PV connection is verified by a trained, qualified electrician.
To find a trusted installer in your area visit MCS.
Flexibility Service Provider code of conduct
HOMEflex is a voluntary code of conduct for domestic flexibility services providers (sometimes referred to as 'aggregators') which encourages good practice and accountability.
Although HOMEflex is currently voluntary, Ofgem has stated that it will regulate flexibility service providers, offering greater consumer protection.
